Why The Straw Guy
Compostable CPLA
The familiar feel of plastic, from a compostable material.
Flexible design
A bendable neck that makes sipping easier and more comfortable.
Firm to the last sip
Stays firm from first sip to last, even in drinks that take their time.
Smooth feel
A smooth, familiar feel with a strong structure, and nothing getting in the way of the drink.
The sip test
A straw that lasts the drink.
Some drinks take their time: a slow iced latte, a long cocktail, a thick shake. Your straw should keep up, and your customers notice when it does.
Our CPLA straws combine the familiar feel and functionality of plastic with the benefits of a compostable alternative. Keep scrolling and watch what happens to each straw.

FAQ
Good questions.
Anything else on your mind? Ask away. No question is too small, not even about straws.
Which straw is right for my drinks?
For most drinks, our Black Flexi Straws: 5 mm for soft drinks and iced coffee, 6 mm for a little more flow, with a bendable neck. For thick smoothies, shakes and frappés, the White Smoothie Straws with a wide 9 mm bore. For a classic look, the red or blue stripe paper straws. For cocktails and mixers, the short 140 mm black paper cocktail straws.
CPLA or paper: what is the difference?
Both are compostable. CPLA straws have the smooth, familiar feel of plastic and stay firm from first sip to last, which is why they are our signature. Our paper straws are rigid and bring a classic look to the glass. You can also keep both: CPLA for everyday drinks, paper for a bit of colour.
Are the straws really compostable?
Yes. Every straw in our range is compostable, CPLA and paper alike. CPLA is made to break down in industrial composting.
How do I pay?
